Glen Grant

Established in 1840 by the town of Rothes by brothers John and James Grant who previously had ran illicit stills in the area. The distillery prospered through the years and remained in the Grant family until 1953 when the business merged with Glenlivet.Further changes in ownership took place over the next 50 years, and in 2000 Glen Grant was acquired by Pernod Ricard. Glen Grant is a top rated Speysider that is popular in Italy thanks to a Milanese hotelier Armando Giovinetti who on a visit in the 1950s was so impressed by the whisky he purchased 50 cases. By 1970 sales had grown to 60,000 and today the figure is well in excess of 500,000The Whiskymouse is able to a wide range of bottles, some of which are not normally available in the UK.We visited the distillery in 2015 and it`s an absolute cracker.Grassy with a nutty aftertaste.
